Walk of the Generations: The second annual Walk of the Generations will be held on Saturday, April 25 from 10:00am to 12:00 noon at the Knoll’s of Oxford.  It will benefit the Oxford Senior Citizens, Inc.-Community Adult Day Service.  Registration is $5.00 with participants asked to obtain additional sponsors.  Please consider joining the walk to support the adult day care.  For more information and registration/sponsor forms, call Debbie Curry, LPN at 513-523-0464.

Adult Forum: Conversation about Bible Stories Revisited will continue at Adult Forum for the next two Sundays, April 26 and May 3.  Ellen Phelps and Rosalyn Benson will lead these sessions in which participants can recall favorite Bible stories from their youth and look at familiar Bible stories with a more mature perspective.  Please join us for coffee at 9:00 and Forum at 9:15 in the Undercroft.

Come and see the one-man art show by parishioner Glenn Julian at the Knolls of Oxford through May 8.  See if you would like an original from Glenn to benefit Holy Trinity’s Talent Sale for Outreach (please see Glenn personally about that).

Saturday, April 25 – Spring Benefit Concert at St. Mary’s Church, 111 East High Street.

To help some worthy causes, St. Mary’s singers and musicians, along with special guests from the Bethel AME Church, will combine their talents to present an evening of joyous songs of praise.  This will benefit Relay for Life, the Oxford Choice Pantry, and a St. Mary’s student mission trip.  Canned goods and boxed products are also being collected for the Pantry.  Everyone is invited!  Bring your friends!

Thursday, April 30 – an award luncheon at the Procter Center for members of St. Simeon and St, Anna group, a 11:00 a.m.  For reservations contact the Rev. Nancy Hardin, 937-653-3497 or the Rev. Steve Cuff, 513-871-2090.

The 2009 May Fellowship Day Celebration sponsored by Church Women United will be held Friday, May 1, at the United Methodist Church beginning at 11:30 a.m.  Bring a salad and table service for the luncheon.  The program “Building Our Stories” is based on the scripture from Joshua 4:1-9, in remembrance of what God has done in the past to save his people.  May Fellowship Day is an annual event that unites Protestant, Roman Catholic, Orthodox and other Christian women in common worship, fellowship and programs.

On Sunday, May 3, at the 10:30 service we will be recognizing all MIAMI GRADUATING SENIORS.  Please plan to be with us as we congratulate them, invoke God’s blessings upon them, and give them a token of our gratitude for their presence among us.

On Sunday, May 3, a Committal Service will be held for Jim Heinold at 1:00 p.m. in Holy Trinity’s Courtyard.  All are welcome.  A simple reception will be held in the Undercroft.

NEW TALENT SALE OFFERING:  SUNSET SOIREE, with wine, hearty hors d’oeuvres, sweets – in the garden, under the stars.  This is a casual event with good conversation, great food, and lots to look at in the garden – at 819 South Oak Street, Saturday, May 9th, at 7:00 p.m. (Rain location in the house).

*Limited: to first 30 persons who sign up; Cost: $20 per person (all proceeds go to the Talent Sale);  RSVP:  the Lodges at 796-7000 or the Michaels at 523-3129.

Habitat for Humanity: Many thanks to a number of parishioners, some new, some long-time, for your growing interest in current Habitat activity.  As most of you know, construction of a new Habitat house is underway at 106 Main Street in College Corner. The Miami University Habitat Chapter is paying $50,000 for the materials for this house; their student members will be the construction crew during the remainder of this semester.  While construction is underway an important non-construction task is providing food for the volunteers each Saturday.  Habitat also needs non-construction volunteers for the following tasks:  family selection and support; administrative tasks; website maintenance; record-keeping; photography.  Please contact Jim Lipnickey (lipnicje@muohio.edu) or Mary Melvin (melvinmp@muohio.edu) for information and to volunteer your talents.

“Holy T Build Day” for Habitat May 16: In the tradition of our local Habitat for Humanity, an organization or group of volunteers can select a “Build Day” on which they work together with a partner family to help build their house. In this way we can share fun and make a tangible contribution to the ongoing construction project.  At present, the house of Habitat partners Betty Fisher and family is under construction in College Corner IN. (This is independent of plans for a group of Habitat homes off Hester Road in Oxford.) Through April 25, Miami students will work at the site. After classes end, other volunteer groups will be needed and welcomed.

It’s been suggested that as an Outreach project, Holy T “adopt” one particular Saturday as a “Holy T Build Day” at the Fisher home. Experienced Site Supervisors determine what needs to be done and provide guidance where needed; it’s not necessary for volunteers to be experienced at construction.  A date has been selected: Saturday, May 16. Already several volunteers are planning to work on that day, starting at 9 AM. Depending on construction needs, our part of the project might be completed by noon.

Holy Trinity Pantry: As always, your generosity has helped enormously as we keep the pantry stocked for the community dinners. We are in special need of toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags (13 and 30 gallons), and baby supplies such as wipes, diapers 4 and 5. No time to shop? Give us some cash or a check and we’ll do it for you.
